Become a VYPER Lead

Are you an Indigenous youth between the ages of 16-29? Apply to become a VYPER Lead! VYPER is now accepting ongoing applications for its lead positions.

A VYPER Lead is a young person who wants to see cultural revitalization in their communities and wants to work on a closely united team of other youth across the province.

What do I do as a VYPER Lead?

A VYPER Lead sits on the board of 12 young people located across B.C. They are a lead in VYPER and contribute in some meaningful way using the skills and strengths they identify. They will represent VYPER in their communities through projects, events, media or sitting on community tables. A lead is responsible for attending regular meetings, supporting other leads in their projects, contributing to decision making processes, representing VYPER in various sectors and capturing their journey along the way. Our leads often host their own initiatives and will look to lift up other youth in their communities to do the same. A shared goal between our leads is the want to revitalize Indigenous culture across the Nation for Indigenous people. We want education of indigenous history shared with the general public & to encourage others to share that knowledge with their friends and families.

What do you receive as a VYPER Lead?

1.) We can offer as much support and mentorship on your initiatives as needed. Our other leads have a vast amount of experience in several areas of project planning and would be happy to help plan, execute and give feedback.

2.) We can offer opportunities for you to broaden your community and knowledge through trainings you might require. We can offer financial support for you to run your projects and compensate you for the time you invest in VYPER.

3.) VYPER is a closely united family of young people who care and support each-other. You can expect to be involved with leads who value your wellbeing and experience over other aspects of the project.
